TidalHealth asking for donations for Brooke’s Toy Closet
DELMARVA – TidalHealth is asking community members to donate toys to Brooke’s Toy Closet. The program is named after Brooke Mulford who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer at just four years old.
She passed away in 2017, and now, Brooke’s Toy Closet provides hope and comfort to kids going through similar situations.
Jessica Hales with TidalHealth says any child dealing with medical hardship should receive a toy to help them through their difficult time.
“It’s been incredibly scary as an adult, much less a child to be in the hospital, and if they are able to go down to the toy closet or be brought one from the toy closet, whether it be a stuffed animal or a Lego set, it helps ease the tension.”
Hales says the program has been extremely successful in the past and she’s hoping to continue that with future donations from the public.
