Teen injured after being hit by car in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police say a pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash Tuesday morning.

The incident took place just after 7 a.m., at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Bridgeville Highway. Police say a 16-year-old pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was flown to an area hospital by Delaware State Police Trooper 2, where they are listed in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old from Bridgeville, was not injured. She was cited for inattentive driving and failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
