Somerset Co. Sheriff’s Office warning citizens to stay alert as scam reports increase

SOMERSET CO., Md. – The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens to be alert for scams this holiday season.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone that they will never ask you to provide your personal information over the phone and will never request you purchase any type of gift card. They also do not use any form of app-based payment such as CashApp or Venmo.

If you receive any calls that seem suspicious, you should report them to the Sheriff’s Office at 410-651-9225.
