Saddle up on the Ocean City beach

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Horse lovers, get ready to saddle up, and ride in a place where you normally would not be able to. Until March 30th, riders can saddle up and hit the beach in ocean city between six in the morning and five in the evening.

The idea originated in 2011 by former council member Brent Ashley. Ocean City Clerk Diana Chavis says he wanted another off season recreational activity for people to be able to partake in.

“They just need to fill out an application. Its fifty dollars for the permit,” Chavis said. “There is a twenty dollar permit for the day, or fifty dollars for the entire season.”

You are allowed to ride horses on the beach from the jetty to 27th street.
