UPDATE: Queen Anne’s Co. High School incident investigated
1:50 p.m. UPDATE: Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to Queen Anne’s County High School Thursday morning to investigate a phone call.
Law enforcement units were sent to the school as a precautionary measure. After a few minutes, the area was deemed safe for students and staff.
After the incident was investigated, police say a picture began circulating depicting a person with a weapon. The person was determined to be a plain-clothed detective with a clearly labeled police outer police carrier who is an employee of the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff.
Police say there was never a credible threat to the school or the community.

CENTREVILLE, Md. – Queen Anne’s County High School is currently in a precautionary lockdown.
School officials say classes and teaching are continuing, and all staff and students remain in their classrooms. Sheriff’s Deputies are conducting checks throughout the school at this time.
Out of an abundance of caution, all schools in the town limits of Centreville will have indoor recess, and visitor access to their buildings will be restricted while the investigation is underway.
