Princess Anne historic Christmas Tour planned for this weekend
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Town of Princess Anne is welcoming folks for a candlelight tour and reception this Saturday. The tour features 14 buildings decorated for Christmas,
everything from private homes to churches. Afterwards a dinner and reception will be held at the Teackle Mansion.
“It’s an opportunity to visit some private homes and to see some of our historic buildings all decorated for the holidays,” says Carris Samis with the Somerset County Historical Society. “You get to see a little bit of everything, which is great.”
It’s one of many events put on by the Somerset County Historical Society. Money raised goes to support public education programs and preserve historical buildings, buildings like one special stop on this weekend’s tour: the town election house.
“This year the town’s election house is going to be open, which is one of the oldest election houses in the entire state that’s still in operation. It’s still used for the purposes of town elections,” says Samis.
Organizers also say Santa will be at the election house, greeting tour members.
You can get your tickets to the tour, reception or both at this website, or you can stop in at the Somerset Choice Station Antiques.
