Police investigating weapons report at Seaford school

SEAFORD, Del. – A weapons incident at a Seaford school Tuesday afternoon is under investigation.

Police say the reported incident took place at around 2:40 p.m., when an unknown suspect who was not on school property allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun to a student on the playground at Cross Christian Academy. One student was reportedly hit by a rock thrown by the suspect or an accomplice.

Students were taken into the school building, which was subsequently placed on lockdown. Law enforcement agencies searched the area for the suspects, but were unsuccessful.

One suspect was described as a man wearing an “Anime” t-shirt, while the other was reportedly wearing a black and red shirt. One of the suspects was also wearing a camo backpack, which is where the possible firearm was believed to be concealed.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Seaford Police at 302-629-6645.
