Operation We Care brings community together for packing event

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – Operation We Care pulled the community together for its 16th annual packing party.

The event helps pack boxes for troops overseas, to send holiday cheer to those who can’t be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Co-founder of Operation We care, Diana Merrit, says she looks forward to the event, each year, calling it a fun way to get people together, while also sending essential items to people in need.

This year, the crew of packers put together over 900 boxes.

“This is a great community. They have supported us for years, and it’s heartwarming for us,” Merrit said. “It allows the community to do something that makes a difference.”
