Ocean City’s Winterfest of Lights kicks off
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City’s Winterfest of Lights officially kicked off November 16th, and will run until the end of December. A grand opening ceremony featured Mayor Rick Meehan flicking on the lights, and the Ocean City Elementary School Stars sang Christmas carols at Northside park.
Winterfest will also have new displays this year, and of course a special appearance from the one and only Santa Claus.
“Winterfest this year does have some new things like a six dollar admissions charge,” said Special Events Director Steve Miller. “The event is open Wednesday through Sunday every week, with the exception of Christmas to New year. We are open seven days a week.”
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, Winterfest has been a walking event. This year, the tram will be open and acting as a trolley, with three designated stops for people to ride to, while also enjoying the custom decorated Christmas trees on display for the town.
