Non-Profit Spotlight: Worcester County Youth and Family Counseling Services

BERLIN, Md. – The Shore Gives More annual Giving Tuesday event is now just under two weeks away!

Ahead of the event, 47 ABC is putting the spotlight on some of the non-profits taking part in the event. One of those groups is the Worcester County Youth and Family Counseling Services.

The group has been in operation since 1975 in Berlin, and has provided a variety of services to those who need help in Worcester County.

They provide youth mental health counseling, mentoring, youth groups, and camps, along with other resources for families.

We spoke with Executive Director Jennifer Leggour who told us a bit about how funding from events like Giving Tuesday can go toward assisting those in need via the groups services: “For those that can’t afford a co-pay or have a high deductible, funding can go towards them so that they can afford therapy. Regardless of their ability to pay.”

If you are interested in making a donation to Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services, or any other group participating in Giving Tuesday, more information can be found at shoregivesmore.org.
