Non-Profit Spotlight: Salisbury Zoo
Salisbury, MD- The Shore Gives More Giving Tuesday event is now just two weeks away on November 28th.
One of the group participating in Giving Tuesday is the Salisbury Zoo.
The Zoo opened their doors in 1954 when select animals were placed on permanent display in the City Park, and has remained open as a free walking zoo for visitors since then.
We spoke with Vanessa Jurkin with Salisbury’s Department of Art, Business, and Culture who told us a bit about the zoo’s mission, and how Giving Tuesday Helps benefit the organization: “One important thing that we do here at the zoo is education, its really important to our mission. That is really what the shore gives more campaign will benefit for us. We have all different kinds of educational programs.”
If you are interested in making a donation to the Salisbury Zoo for Giving Tuesday, or any of the other groups participating, more information can be found at shoregivesmore.org.
