Non-Profit Spotlight: Diakonia

Ocean City, Md- The Shore Gives More’s annual Giving Tuesday event is now just under a week away.

Ahead of the day we are taking a moment to spotlight some of our local non-profits which are participating, and today we are focusing on Diakonia in Ocean City.

Diakonia provides a wide variety of services to those who are experiencing homelessness on the Eastern Shore by providing them food, emergency housing, and other resources in the hopes of getting them back on their feet.

We spoke with Diakonia Executive Director Ken Argot to learn a bit more about what Diakonia provides to those in need: “We are the only organization that does comprehensive Homeless: Everything from street outreach, tent encampments, to emergency shelters. Which we have fifty-two beds, (and offer) three meals a day.”
