Good Morning Delmarva Discusses “The Beacon of Hope”

47ABC – On November 15th, a ceremony will be held to officially welcome Wesley Wofford’s sculpture of Harriet Tubman called “The Beacon of Hope” to Salisbury.

Shawna Kearsley, from Vehicles for Change, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to talk about this historic event and its impact on the community.

Kearsley says that the sculpture is an artist’s proof based on an original located in Cambridge. This particular statue will travel around the country to inspire others.

She also tells us that “The Beacon of Hope” will have an economic impact. There will be a ceremony November 15th at 2PM for the release of the statue to the Salisbury community.
