Georgetown Middle School teacher honored as November Teacher Who Makes A Difference

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Congratulations are in order for our November Teacher Who Makes A Difference.

Ms. Tanya Kaminski is a 6th grade science teacher at Georgetown Middle School. She has been teaching for over 20 years and says she’s made it her mission to build lifelong friendships with students she’s taught.

Whether attending games, supporting through family tragedies, baby showers, or even weddings, we’re told Kaminski goes above and beyond for each of her students, even long after they’ve grown up. Kaminski says it’s important that all teachers including herself know that they’re truly making a difference in students’ lives, even outside the classroom.

“It’s just about putting your passion into what you believe in, getting the kids to believe in themselves. I feel like a lot of our kids don’t have the confidence that they need but the more that you build that confidence, the more they can be successful in and out of the classroom.”

The Teacher Who Makes A Difference award is brought to you in part by Pam Price ad Associates, who helped us surprise the teacher with goodies, flowers, and a certificate.

If you’d like to nominate a teacher, you can do so here.
