GEORGETOWN, Del. – Fire marshals say a garage fire that broke out Thursday afternoon was accidental.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the 18000 block of McColley’s Chapel Road. Crews were able to control the blaze in the garage, which was not occupied at the time.

Further investigation revealed that the fire was caused by a fire spreading from a nearby controlled burn. No injuries were reported.

Total damage has been estimated at $50,000.
