Fruitland Community Center participating in Giving Tuesday

FRUITLAND, Md. – 47ABC is highlighting local organizations participating in Giving Tuesday.

The Fruitland Community Center is asking for donations to buy some really cool equipment that’ll help kids build robots.

President of the Community Center, Alexis Dashield, said the mission is to empower children and get them interested in the STEM field. With donations from Giving Tuesday, Dashield said they’ll be able to achieve that goal, and beyond.

“The funds will go towards purchasing robotics materials and it will also help us continue our partnership with the junior flight academy,” Dashield said.

Dashield added with the new equipment, the facility will be able to host more robotics events for the community.
