Economic Forecast event promises insight into 2024 outlook for businesses
SALISBURY, Md. – The 36th Annual Southern Delmarva Economic Forecast is just over two weeks away and there is still time to get your tickets.
“Why is this worth your half day? It’s worth your half day because it may save you a lot of money in 2024,” says Salisbury Chamber of Commerce President Bill Chambers.
The event is presented by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, BEACON at Salisbury University and the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. It features leading regional economists and business leaders who will reveal what they believe are the most significant achievements and challenges ahead. Chambers says they will be deep diving into issues you could face in 2024, including everything from hiring challenges to laws and regulations impacting climate change.
“Maryland has been a leader in climate change legislation. Not all is rosy when it comes to that. We’re going to have a discussion with leaders on both sides of that to talk about what they means for business, what that means for you as a consumer,” explains Chambers.
Chambers says we are in a volatile environment right now with a potential government shutdown looming in a few days, wars overseas, fluctuating energy prices and inflation that’s still not where the Fed wants it to be.
It’s tough if you’re a small business owner or you’re involved in a medium or large business. It’s tough out there, aside from hiring challenges, there are regulation and tax challenges and the volatility with the economy is just something you can’t forget,” says Chambers.
The event is December 1 at Salisbury University. They are still accepting sponsors of the event which guarantees you seating. For information on sponsorships or to buy your tickets click here.
