Crisfield Church of God host Thanksgiving feast
“We need to understand what family is, friends is,” There is enough hatred in the world and we are just trying to show some love.”
Michael Vaughan is the new pastor at the Crisfield Church of God. He decided to host a thanksgiving potluck for the community to feed any hungry families looking for some good company and good food.
“Fifteen so far have committed their day to cooking, serving, hosting and everything in between.”
Both the church and community members of Crisfield gave money out of their pockets and time out of their day to serve anyone who was hungry and looking for a thanksgiving meal.
“People began to give their time and their resources and its come together.”
“Some are donations, and then of course our church, people give their means every week,” Vaughan said. “So we just took out of what we had and just did it.”
Some churchgoers wanted to join in on the holiday spirit. Liz Warfield is one of them. She says she is happy to donation her time to help in anyway she can.
“I have always wanted to do a community thanksgiving service and never could until now,” Warfield said. “This is a true blessing for me.”
Liz says her favorite food that she cannot wait to try is “the pie because I’m a desert lover.”
Others cannot wait to get a taste of “the Mac and Cheese” or the “Mash potatoes and gravy because its a good Somerset combination.”
