Crash Responder Week for First Responders
Md. – It’s crash responder week for first responders who assist with motor vehicle accidents on the road.
Both law enforcement and EMS workers want drivers to be cautious with any accidents on the side of the road as holiday traveling increases.
Richard Bowers – Fire Chief of Ocean City Fire Department, says that they are out on the streets every night, putting themselves in harms way to serve the community.
“When we are rendering car or rendering a scene safe with our backs to the traffic, there are times when not just Fire and EMS, but law enforcement and public works and transportation our men and women, have been hit.”
Chief Bowers called for increased road safety training for first responders, along with the need for more drivers to slow down and maintain a safe speed on the roadways.
