Cape Henlopen punches ticket to state championship
MILFORD, Del.– Cape Henlopen defeated Charter School of Wilmington in a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday night.
Charter got out to a quick start with a goal from Nicholas Livaditis. Cape answered right back with a header from Donovan Sandoval to tie it up at 1-1. With less than 1 minute to go in the first half, miscommunication from the Charter goalie led to a wide-open goal to give Cape the 2-1 lead going into halftime.
The Vikings put the final nail in the coffin late in the 2nd half off of a corner kick to make it 3-1. Cape Henlopen boys soccer punched their ticket to the state championship for the first time in program history.
