Bridgeville man arrested on drug charges stemming from traffic stop

1280 Frederick Daniels

SEAFORD, Del. – A Bridgeville man is behind bars following a drug investigation that began early Tuesday morning.

Just after midnight, troopers on patrol in the Seaford area reportedly saw a beige 2005 Buick LeSabre traveling without a functioning passenger side headlight. Troopers tried to stop the car on Brickyard Road, but the driver failed to comply and continued driving at a slow speed. The driver then allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot with a brown fanny pack satchel across the front of his body.

Troopers were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Frederick Daniels, who disregarded commands to put his hands behind his back and kept reaching under his body. After Daniels was handcuffed, the troop saw a clear knotted plastic bag on the ground beneath his stomach. Troopers then located an unknown amount of cash, approximately 32.03 grams of marijuana, approximately 15.4 grams of methamphetamine, approximately .29 grams of cocaine, two prescription pills, and approximately .112 grams of heroin.

Daniels was held SCI on a $25,702 secured bond on a list of drug and traffic charges.
