Black Friday expectations high at the Centre at Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – Businesses and management at the Centre at Salisbury are more than prepared for shoppers to spend with this year’s Black Friday Sale.
“This is the time of year where our tenants make up some extra lost revenue that they normally have throughout the year,” says Paul Tomaszewski, Centre at Salisbury General Manager.
With the financial limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, like the push for online shopping, experts say retail businesses had seen slower sales than in previous years. Tomaszewski says they have been trying to fight this by increasing the amount of sales and discounts each store has.
“People are slowly steering away from online shopping because now the consumer has to pay to return products, it’s not free returns anymore,” explains Tomaszewski. “This year we have a lot more sales than we have in the past. We have a lot more kiosks throughout the mall, this is probably the most kiosks we have had in the mall in the last seven years.”
Nathan Wilkins is one of the people in charge of a kiosk. He says that his business is reaping the rewards of being open on a day like black Friday.
“This is my first Black Friday here, but so far so good. I’m seeing so many great people here that I don’t know that I want to know and a lot of customers are supporting us,” says Wilkins. “Its a big thing going on. All kinds of people coming out and supporting the businesses. Business is jumping today.”
He says that he has been open as early as possible to sell as many products as he can, and business has been booming.
“I wanna make sure everybody gets these special products I have that smell good. All natural. We do a lot of different things here so come on down, come see me,” says Wilkins.
