Assault investigation leads to arrest of Milford man
MILFORD, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars on charges stemming from an assault early Friday morning in Milford.
Shortly before 4 a.m., Milford Police officers were contacted by a subject asking for help with obtaining property from a residence in the 300 block of NW 2nd Street. As units were en route, the subject reportedly called back and reported that he had just been assaulted by a man at the residence. Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the victim, who had visible injuries, and reported that he had been assaulted by Frederick Caldwell. Caldwell had fled the scene by the time police arrived.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Caldwell for first degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, aggravated menacing, and breach of release. Dover Police assisted in taking Caldwell into custody on Saturday. He was held on a $62,000 cash bail and issued a no contact order with the victim.
