After The Whistle: Holly Grove’s Graysen Wright

WESTOVER, Md.– Meet Holly Grove’s Graysen Wright, the junior midfielder for Eagle’s field hockey team.

Graysen has been playing field hockey since she was in first grade and the moment she hit the field, she fell in love with it.

“Field hockey was the first thing that my mom signed me up for. And ever since I stepped on that field, it was just I knew I was going to like this. I knew I was going to want to pursue it further on in life,” she says.

She’s had a successful time with Holly Grove, winning an ESIAC championship her freshman year among other awards.

“I have been nominated every single year of my varsity career. Freshman, it was rookie of the year, and then I got nominated by my teammates, by the most improved sophomore year was coach’s choice, and then this year was coach’s choice again,” she says.

She plans on taking her love of field hockey to the college level and is currently in the recruiting process.

“I want to play because I’ve just always known field hockey. That’s my whole life. It’s been my passion, it’s something that has been a part of my life for so long and it is part of me now,” she says.
