Tuesday morning house fire ruled accidental in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – Investigators say a fire that caused heavy damage to a Salisbury home Tuesday morning was accidental.
The fire was reported at around 8:30 a.m. at 334 Delaware Avenue. Firefighters battled the blaze for roughly 30 minutes before bringing it under control.
Fire marshals were called to investigate, determining that the fire began in a second floor bedroom and was caused by combustibles being too close to a heat source. Total damage has been estimated at $70,000.
The occupants were displaced as a result of the fire and are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross.
