Somerset Co. man arrested following Grand Jury indictment on child sex abuse charges
SOMERSET CO., Md. – A Somerset County man has been arrested on multiple charges stemming from a child sex abuse investigation.
Last week, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office arrested 76-year-old James Stephens following a Grand Jury Indictment from the Somerset County Circuit Court Grand Jury. We’re told deputies presented evidence that alleges that Stephens engaged in several acts of child abuse, child sex abuse, and perverted practices from approximately 1977 through approximately 1985.
Stephens has been charged with four counts of child abuse, second and third degree sex offense, and perverted practice. He is being held without bond.
