Police arrest woman in connection to August home burglary in Dover
DOVER, Del. – A Clayton woman has been charged in connection to a burglary that took place back in August.
On August 21st, troopers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Dinahs Corner Road for a reported burglary. The 53-year-old homeowner reported that he came home and found several items missing. Several days prior, a witness reportedly contacted the homeowner about a suspicious woman leaving his property in a green sedan with a weed whacker protruding from her car.
Through further investigation, police identified the suspect as 44-year-old Lori Davenport.
On October 26th, troopers responded to the Walmart in Dover after learning that Davenport was in the store shoplifting. She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with second degree burglary and theft over $1500. She was later released on her own recognizance.
