Pocomoke City Mayor awards Ray Lewis Key to the City
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Pocomoke City Mayor Todd Nock has declared October 7th as Ray Lewis Day in Pocomoke City.
The former Baltimore Raven and NFL Hall of Famer was honored with the key to the city and the American Legend Award from Mayor Nock during the 2nd annual Dock Jam.
“I won this award because of who I am, not because of football but because of who I am as a person, and what I continue to do for human life. if never gets old. I want to say thank you to Pocomoke, it reminds me of my hometown, filled with laid back great southern people, and I am happy just to come here and pull up and feel the spirit,” Lewis said.
He added he would be back to Pcomoke City for future Ray Lewis Days.
“This will not be my last time here, October 7th is my day, and I at least need to come down here and go fishing every 7th. We’ll have to throw a bigger party every year that it is Ray Lewis Day, we’re going to find a way to celebrate this golden opportunity,” he said.
