Philadelphia man arrested in Dover following shooting
DOVER, Del. – A Philadelphia man was arrested in Dover early Sunday morning after a convenience store was damaged by gunfire.
At around 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a call for shots fired at the 7-11, located at 654 North DuPont Highway. Responding officers found damage to the store caused by the shooting.
It was determined through the investigation that the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Quadir Petty Smith, was in possession of a firearm during the incident and was pointing it at people at the scene. Police say it is unknown if he fired shots during the incident or if there were other firearms present.
Petty Smith had left the store before police arrived, however, he was found in the Planet Fitness parking lot a short time later and taken into custody. He was held at SCI on a $2,500 secured bail after being charged with aggravated menacing.
