Officials taking action to revitalize downtown Dover

DOVER, Del. – The painting that community members were working on, on Sunday is only one part of a bigger initiative that officials are trying to bring to downtown Dover.

The Capital City 2030 plan is aimed at transforming downtown Dover, through the master plan by the Downtown Dover Partnership.

Aside from the crosswalk paintings, officials will also be welcoming community members to submit art designs that will be designed on two other intersections, and the chosen artists will win $500.

Jordan Resh, with downtown Dover, said she’s excited to see how the initiative will revitalize the city.

“This project relates back to the capital city 2030 transforming downtown Dover, which is a strategic master plan for development and revitalization of downtown Dover as a whole,” Resh said. “That project involves short term and long term, big and small, and one of the big goals of the project as well is to represent the creative community of the arts in Dover.”

The project implementation will take place on October 31st.
