New state fishing record set in Delaware

DELAWARE – For the second time in less than a month, DNREC has confirmed a new state record for blue catfish.

Sydney McBroom of Bridgeville is the new record holder after he reeled in a 53-pound blue catfish from the Nanticoke River. The fish is 46.5 inches long and is also believed to be the largest freshwater fish caught since DNREC began keeping recreational fishing records.
