Murder trial to begin Monday in death of Corporal Keith Heacook

DELMAR, Del. – The trial is scheduled to start Monday morning in the brutal murder of Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook. Randon Wilkerson is accused of beating Corporal Heacook to death back in April of 2021. Wilkerson faces two counts of first degree murder, among other charges.

The Department of Justice confirmed last month that Wilkerson’s attorney filed for a bench trial. That means a judge will decide the case on his own and that there will be no jury involved.

The trial will take place in Georgetown, Del. If convicted, Wilkerson could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
