Milford Library to host Native American education program
MILFORD, DE. – The Milford library, in partnership with the Milford Museum, will be hosting an American History program, Saturday afternoon.
The program is to highlight the different Native American Tribes that were in Sussex County, pre-colonialism. Director of outreach and development, Thomas Summers, said the event will give attendees the perfect opportunity to learn about the rich Native American Culture, and connect it to Sussex County.
“I think it’s really important, because our series is focusing on a variety of different historical topics, and I don’t think a lot of people know about the American Indians who were in this area before colonization,” Summers said. “That’s what this program is going to present, it’s going to tell you about the different communities that existed.”
Archaeologist Daniel R. Griffith will be leading the program, tomorrow.
