Minnesota man arrested for assault in Felton

FELTON, Del. – A Minnesota man was arrested in Felton Wednesday evening following a domestic incident.

At around 8 p.m., Felton Police responded to the 100 block of E. Sewell Street for a reported physical domestic. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Lamont Jiggetts, reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. The victim told police that Jiggetts punched them in the face, tried to throw hot cooking grease on them, and stole the victim’s phone, preventing them from calling 911.

During the investigation, police say Jiggetts returned to the scene and was immediately confronted by police, but he refused to get out of his vehicle. He allegedly became combative, physically resisting arrest, head butting an officer and spitting on three officers while continuing to resist arrest.

Further investigation revealed that Jiggetts was wanted out of the Bristol Township Police Department in Pennsylvania for terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, assault, and criminal mischief.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with numerous offenses in connection to the domestic incident. He is currently awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
