Layfield ask for case dismissal

Sussex County, Del.- Sussex Central High School Principal Dr. Bradley Layfield requested a dismissal of a civil case against him that accuses him of circulating a video of a students exposed breast.

The lawsuit was filed against the Indian River School District, Layfield, and one other faculty member at Sussex Central Highschool by at the time student Aniya Harmon after she claims that a surveillance video was circulated of an on campus which caused for her breast to be exposed.

In a statement released by Layfield’s legal counsel from the Neuberger firm state that unless the video is stopped and viewed frame by frame, that no inappropriate images are visible.

Adding that Harmon assumed the risk of her breast being exposed by taking part in the fight which caused her wardrobe malfunction.

That statement also reinforced that the sharing of said video was necessary for need to know individuals in order to “preserve the safety of students entrusted to the care of the school.”
