Good Morning Delmarva Discusses Safe Surrender

47ABC – Safe Surrender is an event that aims to help those with outstanding warrants get a chance to clear their records.

Earlier this year, Safe Surrender was held in Wilmington and because of the turnout, Kent County will be hosting a 2nd one on November 3rd.

Roger Roof, Justice of the Peace Court Operations Manager, sat down with us to share more about how helpful this event is.

He tells us some common issues such as missing a court date, lapsing on a payment plan, or being behind on child support can become a problem if you run into law enforcement.

Roof says they want people to see it as a safe time with special consideration for those wanting to resolve their issues.

Safe Surrender will be at the Kent County Courthouse from 9 AM to 7PM.
