Good Beer Festival back for its 13th year
SALISBURY. – The Good Beer Festival is back and volunteers, and vendors, have been preparing for the event all day long. The two day long festival features local beer vendors, but that’s not the only star of the show.
Andy Glushakow, owner of Phat Boyz Barbecue, has been bringing his fan favorite recipes to the event, every year.
“Everybody drinks and then they get hungry,” Glushakow said. “We have barbecue and seafood from pit beef brisket and pulled pork crabcakes off crabs.”
Wicomico County Recreations Superintendent, James Simmons, said the exposure for the different vendors is nice, but it’s the people that keep this event running year after year.
“The community has told us loud and clear that they love it. We get over 3,000 attendees a year and that’s been consistent- whether it’s a nice sunny day, like today, or rain, there’s, always 1000s from around the community that love this event,” Simmons said.
While attendees will be letting the good times flow, everyone who shows up is actually contributing to a good cause.
“We use this festival to fund our youth scholarship program year-round. All the different programs that we offer throughout the year- this is a way that we use this event as a fundraiser,” Simmons said.
If you aren’t able to make it to the Good Beer Festival today, you’re in luck, the event will welcome back guests tomorrow.
“It’s going to be a great event, but you don’t want to miss out on that- I guarantee you will enjoy it and have a great experience,” Simmons said.
