First responders to host community meet and greet, Sunday with special pup appearance
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Lower Shore Autism Community, in partnership with local Fire and Police agencies, will be hosting a meet and greet event on Sunday.
The First Responder Meet and Greet is meant to bring the community together, to make locals aware of the different resources that first responders and the Lower Shore Autism Community have to offer. Boone the Bloodhound, from the Fruitland Police Department, is set to make a public appearance at the event.
Events Chair of the Lower Shore Autism Community, Marybeth Belgie, said by bringing Boone, locals will have a better idea of how these pups help the special needs community.
“The fire departments, and local police departments, can share in that experience of wellness,” said. “It will help our Lower Shore Community in the future.”
The meet and greet will be held at Winterplace Park and Equestrian Center, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
