Financial Assistance for sustainable farming in Wicomico County

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – A big portion of that funding will be matched, and equally distributed around the Delmarva Peninsula.

Specifically in Maryland, a good chunk of the money is going to the lower Eastern Shore. 

Both Agricultural and Poultry farmers will be receiving these benefits thanks to partnerships with the Delmarva Chicken Association and local lawmakers.

“As a person who comes from a farm family, we want to do better for a healthier bay to have all of our federal representatives come here to the Eastern Shore to compliment what we are doing.”

Hastings says this is going to provide an opportunity for farmers to add more riparian buffers, more space for habitat, wildlife and watershed preservation.
