Delmarva Chicken Festival returns to Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – The Delmarva Chicken Festival made its return to Salisbury at the Shorebirds Stadium. There were hundreds of people in attendance to enjoy the vendors selling food, play with the baby chicks and listen to live music.
Festival goers got a chance to learn about the history of chicken on Delmarva, while also eating some tasty poultry themed food.
Executive Director Holly Porter says one of the biggest draws to the chicken festival was , of course, one of the world’s largest frying pans.
“We were actually able to get it out of the Georgetown Historic museum with the help of metal shop and Perdue Farms to be able to have it hear and see so many people remembering to come to so many past festivals.”
This festival marked the hundredth anniversary for the chicken industry in Delmarva and organizers are excited to see what they can do next year.
