Delaware Department of Correction officials working to keep kids safe on Halloween night
DELAWARE. – With Halloween just around the corner, Delaware probation officials will be working hard to keep your kids safe.
For over two decades, the Delaware Department of Correction has been patrolling streets, every Halloween, to make sure kids who are trick-or-treating are not targeted by sex offenders.
Supervisor of probation parole for the sex crimes unit of Sussex County, Jill Green, said Parole officers will be present all night, making sure that the community is safe.
“Starting tomorrow night, we will have teams of probation officers across the state, conducting Halloween curfew checks,” Green said. “The offenders are required to be in their residence from 6pm-6am- they are not allowed to hand out any candy or have their outside lights off.”
