Community gathers at Public Landing Pier for an evening of reflection

SNOW HILL, MD. – People are sending lanterns off into the water, from the Public Landing Pier.

The evening of reflection event gives people the opportunity to remember loved ones they’ve lost to suicide. 47abc spoke with event organizer, Lisa Shockley, who said the community needed this night of healing.

“We think now, more than ever, our community needs to be united, and be aware that there are resources available locally, and nationally, for anyone that is in need. We’re encouraging everyone to take care of their mental health.”

The support doesn’t just stop there. Tomorrow, there will be a suicide prevention walk in Snow Hill, in the same location.
