Art competition looks to breathe new life into SU’s Rommel Center
SALIBSURY, Md. – Salisbury University’s Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship is looking for those with an artistic eye to help breathe new life into two walls in the facility.
The ‘Innovate Walls Mural Art‘ competition is a collaborate effort between the Rommel Center, SU Art Galleries, and the city’s Arts, Business, and Culture Department.
The theme for the competition is innovation, giving artists the freewill to interpret as they please.
We’re told the goal is to also spread awareness on the Rommel center. “We’re open to the community, students, faculty, and staff to come see and bring a new audience of artisans,” Rommel Center Assistant Director Bryan Bourdeau said. “Artists can actually bring more diversity, inclusion, and community involvement by expressing their creativity here in the Rommel center.”
There will be both a $1,200 (1st wall) and $800 (2nd wall) cash prize for both wall designs.
Supplies will be provided for those artists.
Winners will be announced November 6th during Global Entrepreneurial Week.
