Apartment fire under investigation in Talbot Co.

EASTON, Md. – An investigation is underway following a fire that heavily damaged an apartment building in Easton.

The fire was reported at around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, at 21 South West Street in Easton. Crews battled the blaze in the two-story apartment building for roughly two hours before it was brought under control.

Maryland State Fire Marshals were called to investigate the cause of the fire, which we’re told began in the kitchen of the downstairs apartment. Total damage has been estimated at $50,000. Families in both apartments were displaced as a result of the fire.
