Somerset Co. man sentenced for sexually abusing minor
SALISBURY, Md. – A Somerset County man has been sentenced to more than three decades behind bars for sexually abusing a minor.
68-year-old James Hayman pleaded guilty in July to sex abuse of a minor and third degree sex offense, and last week was sentenced to 35 years behind bars, the maximum sentence possible for these offenses.
Hayman was charged after it was learned that in December of 2022, he sexually abused a minor who was under the age of 13.
In addition to his sentence, Hayman will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender for life.
