UPDATE: Victim in officer-involved crash dies
9/11 UPDATE: Police say the victim in this crash has died from her injuries.
The victim, identified as 59-year-old Loreen Miller, was receiving treatment at a New Castle County hospital when she died on Sunday.
The officer involved in this crash has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of this investigation, as is standard practice for all incidents associated with a death where an officer is involved.

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a serious crash involving an officer.
At around 8 a.m. Wednesday, a Dover Police officer radioed to dispatch that they had been involved in a vehicle crash on South Little Creek Road. Several officers responded to the scene and found the crash in the area of South Little Creek Road and Signal Street, with the driver of the second vehicle, a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro, trapped inside of her vehicle.
Firefighters cut the 59-year-old woman out of her vehicle, and she was airlifted to a New Castle County hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The officer, a 4-year veteran, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released.
Further investigation revealed that the officer was traveling westbound on South Little Creek Road in a fully marked police vehicle, approaching Signal Street. At that same time, the 59-year-old woman driving the Camaro was traveling eastbound on South Little Creek Road, trying to turn left onto Signal Street. As a result, the vehicles reportedly crashed head-on and sustained disabling damage.
