Senator Carozza talks benefits of annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake

SALISBURY, Md.- Senator Marybeth Carozza was at the annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake Wednesday in Crisfield which is in her district.

Senator Carozza said it’s always an exciting day for the City of Crisfield and Somerset County. She praised legislation passed earlier this year that established an improved retirement program for the Crisfield Police Department.

She also told us her office has also been focused on improving the dock.

With many of her colleagues all in one place, Senator Carozza said it was the perfect opportunity to help make some priorities here on the shore priorities for the state of Maryland. “Today I can talk to my colleagues who see the flooding and why we are pushing so hard for the flood gates or pushing so hard for additional support at the federal level. This is the opportunity for us to tell our story. We can also say this is becoming a destination for tourism,” Senator Carozza said.

Senator Carozza also praised the various infrastructure projects currently underway in Crisfield geared towards boosting economic development.
