Missing Swimmer Found Dead in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The police and the Coast Guard are continuing to search for a swimmer who went missing on September 3rd.

According to police –the rescue mission began after they received several 911 calls. The missing swimmer identified as 31-years-old Richard A. Boateng from Maryland was last seen around 5:45 PM in the ocean surf off the beach.

Boateng is described as a black male who is 5 foot 10 with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and white swimsuit with a floral design. Plus, a blue swim cap.

Update 12:58 pm – Police have called off the search Richard A. Boateng after they were located dead.

Police say they 31-year-old was located on the beach in the North Shores community in the area of Ocean Drive & Farview Road. A death investigation is now underway.

Police do not suspect foul play.
