Sallies handles Smyrna, dropping Eagles to 0-3
WILMINGTON, Del. – Smyrna dropped their first in-state game of the 2023 football season to Salesianum, 28-12.
Salesianum running back BJ Alleyne kicked the scoring off with a 7-yard touchdown run.
The Sals extended the lead thanks to a Ryan Stone pass to Ben Anton, as Smyrna’s defense continues to struggle with giving up big plays.
Smyrna finally got on the board on the first play of the fourth quarter. Off of the earthquake, Kahmaj Kearney went for the jump pass and found a wide open Dillan Wessell who galloped in to the end zone.
Salesianum sealed the win with a strip sack returned for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.
Smyrna (0-3) will host Appoquinimink Friday night at 7 PM.
