Salisbury PD warning of skimmers on local ATM machines
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police are warning citizens following recent skimming reports.
We’re told police have received reports of skimming equipment being placed on ATM machines at local businesses in an effort to fraudulently obtain credit and debit card information from victims.
Those using ATM machines or other debit/credit card machines are advised to check for the following:
- Traces of glue or other substances around fixtures, such as the card reader or keypad
- Loosing-fitting or misaligned fixtures
- Unusual plastic fittings
- Bulkiness on the card reader or keypad
- Unusual color coding ont he keypad or keys in an unusual order
